116 - Futuristic
Hard to believe that this is a 40-year-old water tower in the formerly very small town of Fairview. The shape is so unusual, it looks like it just landed. There's a lot of construction going on all around it. They've put a cyclone fence up around it, which gives me hope that it will be spared destruction in the encroaching "progress". I've always thought it was kinda cool.

It looks like it is ready to take off into the wild blue yonder...can you see flames from underneath?
ReplyDeleteI agree with you....hopefully common sense will prevail to keep the history of this tower alive. Too many older structures are leveled by the force of 'progress.'
I think you will find that the Russians are looking for one of their sputniks, you might get a spotters fee.
ReplyDeleteI would keep an eye on it for opening doors - who knows, ET may have found home....fun one!
ReplyDeleteI always wondered what happened to those old satellites?!
ReplyDeleteVery cool, very futuristic!
ReplyDeleteVery cool, looks like a spaceship of some kind. Great find!
ReplyDeleteThanks, y'all!
ReplyDeleteWhile it certainly reminds me of a spaceship, I admit, when I was waiting for the light to change beside the tower, I kept expecting to hear a deep, booming "Fore!" as Paul Bunyan played through! lol (I've often thought the same thing about Reunion Tower in downtown Dallas, TX!)
That is cool. Love that water tower.
