127 - Grass, Lawn, Turf

A neighbor around the corner has a lovely stand of bluebonnets in his side yard every spring. I had to get a shot or two, and this is the view from the street. His three little trees (about 7 or 8 feet tall now) are ankle deep in bluebonnets. They may be common here in the spring, but they're beautiful. I think they're about the best thing about Texas!

  1. Wow! That is quite an amazing sight. I like how our eyes are led down the line of trees towards where the bluebonnets end. Not to mention the fabulous color!

  3. I always read "The Legend of the Bluebonnets" to my students, but I don't think that I have ever seen real ones. This is a great photo.

  4. Great color, very pretty. A friend that lives in Texas told me it was against the law to mow these blue bonnets due to it being the state flower. It would be a shame to mow these.

  6. I so wanted to see the bluebonnets on our way through Texas, but it was too dry. These are awesome, and to think it's someone's yard!
