This old truck in a neighbor's backyard has become a trash dump. It's missing part of it's bed, but the paint shines like new! Seemed like the perfect Abandoned theme photo.
This looks a little like every farm around this area...there is always some abandoned vehicle nearby. Those tall weeds speak to the idea that this pickup had not been anywhere else recently.
Hate to see a workhorse that has been pushed so hard that it's back appears broken, but you are right the ducco indicates that the spirit isn't broken.
Thanks to everyone for the compliments. The B&W was colored just a bit by a warm filter, just to give it a slightly antique-y feel. The original was in color, and somehow just didn't feel right.
I am an avid (if not especially talented) amateur photographer. That's my third love. My first is my horses. My second is my cats.
I also have a small organic garden, big enough for my husband & I, and to share a bit with some friends and family.
I train my little horses to harness, and teach them tricks, like bowing, lying down, etc. I'm working on dressage movements with one!

ReplyDeleteIt looks like an antique, someone needs to rescue it. A potential theme? lol

ReplyDeleteNeat thought to go with your image. I like what you have done here - the black and white has a timeless feel to it. Nice!
ReplyDeleteB&W makes the image. Good work!
ReplyDeleteGotta love that neighbor...on the other hand you wouldn't have gotten such a great shot...love the b&w
ReplyDeleteGreat shot, and like the others love that you converted to B&W... Really relays your message.
ReplyDeleteI like the Black & white and the angle from which it was taken. So many farms and houses have abandoned trucks and cars gives the area "character".
ReplyDeleteLove the black and white treatment here.
ReplyDeleteEchoing Clara and Edmund's comments about the treatment of this photo. I don't think it would have been as effective in color. Nice picture!
ReplyDeleteThis fits "abandoned" perfectly - it's a universal sight. The black and white is nice, too.
