At the same pond where the backhoe was digging, about 30 feet away, was this fellow, fishing for his lunch. He kept an eye on the backhoe, but seemed totally unconcerned about the noisy yellow beast not so very far away.
Obviously, fish for lunch was OH so much more important!
I love the way they contort their necks when they are trying to see without being seen! Nice shot and editing.
ReplyDeleteLove the frame work on this photo - it really drew my eye right to the bird.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I wasn't actually trying for this effect, but once I got it, I kinda liked it. I'll post the one of him actually dipping his head underwater on my website (see link just beneath 365 Photo Challenge logo by Kimmerbean--love it, Kim!)
ReplyDeleteLovely shot of a lovely bird.
ReplyDeleteI love the way you frames this out very nice (and we never admit happy mistakes in photoshop - you knew what you were doing alllll along!!)
ReplyDeleteOh! Of course . . . Of course, I did!
ReplyDeleteGreat shot, I guess birds, animals nowadays have no choice but to get used to humans taking their livlihood away. Its so unfair to them but we just keep on going.
ReplyDeleteA great shot that captures the grace of the bird. The framing is fantastic--it focuses the eye on the heron (it is a heron, right?) and complements the delicacy of the bird.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous shot - love the framing, love the reflection - very nice!
ReplyDeleteThanks, everyone! (It's a snowy egret, which I gather is not much different from a heron!)
