Mama Ladyhawk has a funny hair cut. It's called a foaling clip or belly clip, and it's to keep new babies from getting mouthsful of hair when they're looking for meals. Too much hair in a foal's tummy can cause serious, even fatal, problems, so a foaling clip is pretty standard for miniature mares. In a few weeks, you'll not be able to tell she ever had a bare (or nearly bare) tummy!
So, so cute! Mom looks like she has her girlish figure back....
ReplyDeleteI love how her head is slightly tilted down, looking at the camera. What a cutie.
ReplyDeleteYou are so lucky lady and so is her mum.
ReplyDeleteIsn't she the cutest, love that baby face!!
ReplyDeleteLove her star and her white muzzle.
ReplyDeleteSo, to get them home, do you just pile them into the minivan? (Ala "City Slickers" and Norman the cow?) They are so small! :-D
Thanks, everyone!
ReplyDeleteVal, I have a miniature horse trailer! It's made specifically for the little ones, and I have to duck just a little (I'm 5'2".) to get inside!
She's adorable - what a sweet shot of your new baby.
