144 - Hats

My husband's western hats wait patiently on his hat rack by the front door.  Summer straw on top, winter felt on bottom.  We're going to the Ft. Worth Stock Show next weekend (hopefully), and he'll wear that winter felt for the first time since his stroke in August  2008.  I look forward to seeing it--another sign of returning to normalcy.  (Besides, I think he's quite handsome in it, but after 35 years of marriage, I'd hate for it to go to his head--then he couldn't wear the hat!)

  1. Scary stuff strokes so tell him he will have "felt" better if he wears it for the child bride!

  5. Thanks, all! The only lighting in this was the hanging fixture over the dining table. (Tried a flash, and it just didn't work well.)
(Child bride, my hind foot! But, thanks--I think.)
Looking forward to the stock show. Of course, my camera is coming, too! I get to take pictures of cows and things! (Love it!)

  10. Love the history of the hats, for whatever reasons only baseball hats get worn here in NJ and my husband has a million of them so they don't have any significance. It's good that you are getting back to a normal routine I'm glad that he's making a good recovery!

  11. A very sweet photo accompanied by a very sweet story. Keep paying him compliments and just buy him a 10-gallon hat when his head gets too big!!! ;-)
