341 - Two

One last picture of Kittyhawk (for now), with her mother Ladyhawk.  Different colors, but my, do they look alike!  Kitty looks just like mama did at that age.

I used the best possible way to get a horse's attention:  food!  They're waiting for their promised treats.  I'm pleased to have gotten a shot of them together like this!  I couldn't resist posting it for this theme.  (And yes, this one probably looks familiar, as it was in the group of photos of Kittyhawk and Mustang I posted the other day!  I decided I'd rather have it here, so I moved it and replaced it with Kittyhawk's "sexy" look. lol)

  2. Beautiful Mom and Baby. They are looking right at you with those begging eyes. It is interesting how their heads are posed just so! I hope the carrot or apple was what they wanted.

  4. They are so cute! How come only baby has the shaved chest? (We used to do that to our outside horses so we could ride indoors in the winter and let them not get so overheated).

  5. I went out to see my friend's horses today and she was feeding them peppermint candies - I never knew horses liked those - I guess they have sweet tooths too! Beautiful image of these two together - they look like "multiples" LOL

  8. Ron, sorry, old Stone Dragon herself has two legs! (But family members and coworkers do say she can be a bit of a dragon, for sure!)
What they wanted was "Nicker Makers," which are made of grain, molasses, and apples. Yum!
The chest and tummy are clipped because Kittyhawk is about to start driving training. If they get hot and sweaty with such long coats, they cool out before they dry out, then they get chilled. So you clip what sweats most, so it dries quicker, and keeps your horse from getting ill from chills. (Mama's doing a different kind of work--she's due May first!)

  9. They are beautiful and very intent on you. Their coats are so wonderful it must be a little hard to clip it away.
